A look inside our schools’ needs

Deferred Maintenance Needs

KCPS has identified the following deferred maintenance priorities for bond funding: life safety systems, HVAC, electrical, roofs, windows, bathrooms and plumbing. These priorities were identified through Building Condition Assessments that evaluated building systems based on current condition and expected remaining life, and stakeholder feedback.

Learning Environment Needs

Through facility assessments and stakeholder feedback, KCPS has evaluated each school facility’s ability to support teaching and learning, health and well-being and the community. The following priorities have been identified to improve the learning environment for students: classroom renovations, collaboration spaces, STEAM labs, instrumental music spaces, gym and athletic facilities, outdoor classrooms/outdoor play areas and secure entry points.
